According to the European climate agency, the world witnessed the warmest January ever recorded last month. The global mean temperature has surpassed the 1.5-degree Celsius mark for the past 12 months. However, the data does not mean a permanent violation of the 1.5-degree Celsius threshold stated in the Paris agreement.
