0
The United Nations has declared the recent floods in Somalia and East Africa as a once-in-a-century event. The heavy seasonal downpours, combined with the impact of El Nino and the Indian Ocean Dipole, could affect around 1.6 million people in Somalia. The floods have already caused the death of at least 29 people and forced over 300,000 people from their homes in Somalia, as well as causing destruction in northern Kenya.
